Clinical Medicine (MJCM) Author’s Guide



Welcome to the Mogito Open Access Journal of Clinical Medicine (MJCM). We appreciate your interest in contributing to our mission of disseminating high-quality, peer-reviewed clinical research that enhances medical knowledge and improves patient care worldwide.
This guide outlines the submission process, manuscript preparation, and ethical standards required for publication in MJCM.
1. Scope of the Journal
MJCM publishes scholarly articles that contribute to the advancement of clinical medicine. The journal accepts submissions in the following areas:
- Internal medicine and related subspecialties
- Primary care and preventive medicine
- Diagnostic and therapeutic approaches
- Public health and community medicine
- Case reports, innovations, and clinical procedures
2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted
MJCM welcomes the following article types:
- Original Research Articles – Comprehensive reports of clinical studies and trials
- Review Articles – Critical overviews of current knowledge on clinical topics
- Clinical Case Reports – Detailed presentations of unique or instructive patient cases
- Brief Reports – Short but informative findings or observations
- Editorials – Opinion pieces by experts or invited authors
- Letters to the Editor – Responses, opinions, or commentary related to MJCM content
3. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
A. Formatting Requirements
- Use Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Times New Roman, font size 12
- 1.5 line spacing
- Number all pages consecutively
- Include a title page with the full manuscript title, authors’ names, affiliations, and corresponding author’s contact details
B. Abstract and Keywords
- All research and review articles must include an abstract of no more than 250 words
- For original research, use a structured abstract with the following headings: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion
- Provide 4–6 relevant keywords immediately after the abstract
C. Main Text Structure
Original articles should follow this format:
- Introduction
- Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
Other article types may follow a flexible structure as appropriate.
4. References and Citation Style
- Use Vancouver style for all references
- Cite references in the order they appear in the text
- Include only published and accessible sources
- References should be accurate and complete
5. Figures and Tables
- Include figures and tables at the end of the manuscript or in separate files
- Provide clear legends and number them consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1)
- Ensure any images are high resolution (minimum 300 dpi)
6. Ethical Considerations
A. Human and Animal Studies
- All studies involving human subjects must include evidence of ethical approval from an appropriate review board
- A statement confirming informed consent must be included
- Animal studies must comply with institutional and national ethical guidelines
B. Plagiarism and Originality
- Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere
- All submissions are checked for plagiarism using reliable detection software
- Authors are responsible for ensuring the integrity of their work
C. Authorship
- All listed authors must meet authorship criteria as defined by the ICMJE
- Contributions must be significant in conception, execution, or interpretation of the work
- Any changes to authorship after submission require written consent from all authors
7. Peer Review Process
- All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts
- The average turnaround time is 4 to 6 weeks
- Authors will be notified of editorial decisions and invited to revise based on reviewers’ comments, if necessary
8. Open Access Policy
MJCM is a fully open access journal. All published articles are freely available to readers worldwide under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, allowing unrestricted use with proper citation.
9. Article Processing Charges (APC)
To maintain open access and cover editorial and production costs, a modest Article Processing Charge (APC) may apply. Fee waivers and discounts are available for authors from low-income countries or upon justified request.
