1. Responsibilities of Authors

A. Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original and free of plagiarism. All sources must be properly cited, and borrowed text, data, or ideas must be clearly acknowledged. MJCM uses plagiarism detection tools to verify content originality.

B. Authorship Criteria

Only individuals who have significantly contributed to the research design, data collection, analysis, or manuscript drafting should be listed as authors. All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission for publication.

C. Data Integrity

Authors must provide accurate data and information. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of results is unethical and unacceptable. Authors may be asked to provide raw data for editorial review if needed.

D. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that might influence the interpretation of their findings. All potential conflicts of interest must be declared at the time of submission.

E. Ethical Approval

Research involving human participants or animals must have prior approval from an appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board. Informed consent must be obtained and clearly stated in the manuscript.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

A. Editorial Independence

Editors make decisions solely based on the scholarly merit and relevance of the manuscript, free from commercial or political influence.

B. Fair and Timely Review

Editors must ensure a timely, fair, and confidential peer-review process. They should not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and editorial staff.

C. Confidentiality and Data Protection

Editors must protect the confidentiality of all submitted materials and respect authors’ privacy rights throughout the review process.

D. Managing Conflicts of Interest

Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest and ensure that peer review is objective and unbiased.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

A. Objective Evaluation

Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and constructively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.

B. Confidentiality

Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not use information obtained through peer review for personal advantage.

C. Disclosure of Conflicts

Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing if necessary.

4. Publisher’s Responsibilities

MJCM’s publisher is committed to promoting publishing ethics and maintaining the integrity of the academic record. We follow the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines and support transparency, data accessibility, and ethical scholarship.

5. Handling of Misconduct

In cases of suspected misconduct, MJCM will follow a structured process:

  • The concern is investigated confidentially by the editorial team.
  • Authors or reviewers may be asked to provide clarification or supporting evidence.
  • Confirmed cases may result in corrections, retractions, or banning of the responsible party from future submissions.
  • MJCM may notify the author’s institution or funding agency if warranted.

6. Retraction and Correction Policy

MJCM is committed to correcting the scholarly record when necessary:

  • Erratum: For minor mistakes that do not affect conclusions.
  • Corrigendum: For author-requested corrections.
  • Retraction: For major errors, ethical breaches, or fraudulent data.
    All such notices will be clearly marked and linked to the original publication.
