MJCTT Publication Ethics Policy: Integrity, Responsibility, and Transparency in Research

At the Mogito Open Access Journal of Clinical Trials & Therapeutics (MJCTT), we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, research integrity, and editorial transparency. This policy outlines the ethical responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, ensuring that all published content is trustworthy, original, and scientifically sound.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

A. Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must submit only original work. All borrowed text, data, or ideas must be clearly cited. MJCTT uses plagiarism detection tools to verify manuscript originality prior to peer review.

B. Authorship Criteria

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the research design, data analysis, or manuscript writing. All authors must approve the final version and consent to submission.

C. Data Integrity

Authors are required to present accurate, unaltered data. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting is strictly prohibited. Editors may request raw data for verification.

D. Conflict of Interest

Any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest must be fully disclosed upon submission to promote transparency and avoid bias.

E. Ethical Approval

For studies involving humans or animals, authors must provide documentation of ethical approval from an institutional review board or ethics committee. Informed consent must be obtained and recorded.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

A. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based on scientific merit, not commercial or political influence. Editors operate independently to maintain objectivity.

B. Fair and Timely Peer Review

Editors ensure that manuscripts undergo a timely, impartial, and confidential peer review process.

C. Confidentiality and Data Protection

Editors must protect the privacy and confidentiality of submitted manuscripts throughout the editorial process.

D. Managing Conflicts of Interest

Editors must recuse themselves from handling any manuscript where a conflict of interest exists and delegate it to an independent editor.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

A. Objective Evaluation

Reviewers must provide constructive, unbiased assessments based solely on the manuscript’s scientific merit.

B. Confidentiality

Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents and not shared or discussed outside the peer review process.

C. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Reviewers must disclose any conflicts and decline reviews if impartiality is compromised.

4. Responsibilities of the Publisher

The publisher of MJCTT supports the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and accuracy of the scientific record. We actively support data accessibility and ethical publishing practices.

5. Handling Research Misconduct

MJCTT investigates all suspected cases of research or publication misconduct through a fair and confidential process:

  • Concerns are reviewed by the editorial board.
  • Authors or reviewers may be asked for clarifications or supporting data.
  • Confirmed misconduct may result in retraction, correction, or submission bans.
  • Relevant institutions or funding bodies may be notified where necessary.

6. Retraction and Correction Policy

To ensure the accuracy of published research, MJCTT implements the following:

  • Erratum – For minor errors that do not affect study results.
  • Corrigendum – Author-initiated corrections.
  • Retraction – For cases involving serious ethical breaches, data falsification, or major scientific errors.

All notices are transparently labeled and linked to the original article.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing

MJCTT believes that ethical publishing is fundamental to advancing clinical science and improving patient care. We invite authors, reviewers, and readers to uphold these principles and help us maintain a high standard of research credibility and transparency.
