The Mogito Open Access Journal of Advanced Surgery & Operative Care (MJASOC) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to advancing surgical innovation, patient safety, and operative care. This guide outlines submission procedures, manuscript preparation, and ethical standards required for publication.
1. Scope of the Journal
MJASOC publishes high-quality research, case series, technical notes, and reviews across all surgical subspecialties, including:
- Advanced surgical techniques and innovations
- Operative case series and technical notes
- Perioperative management and critical care
- Surgical simulation and education
- Robotic and minimally invasive surgery
- Emergency, trauma, and oncologic surgery
- Surgical instrumentation and technology
- Surgical ethics and health policy
- Postoperative recovery and patient outcomes
- Global and low-resource surgical practice
2. Accepted Manuscript Types
- Original Research Articles: Novel studies advancing surgical knowledge
- Review Articles: Structured overviews of current surgical evidence
- Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses: Evidence syntheses
- Case Reports & Case Series: Clinically significant cases
- Technical Notes: Innovative surgical procedures or tools
- Brief Communications: Short preliminary findings

3. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
A. Formatting Requirements
- Submit in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt | Line spacing: 1.5, with page numbers
- Title page: Manuscript title, all authors’ names and affiliations, corresponding author’s contact details
B. Abstract and Keywords
- Required for research and review articles (max. 250 words)
- Original research: Structured format – Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion
- Include 4–6 keywords
C. Main Text Structure
- Original research: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion
- Other article types may follow appropriate formats (e.g., case reports: Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion)
4. References and Citation
- Use Vancouver style
- Number references in order of appearance
- Cite only peer-reviewed or publicly accessible sources
- Maintain consistent formatting
5. Figures and Tables
- Include at the end of manuscript or as separate high-quality files
- Number consecutively (Figure 1, Table 1) with clear titles and legends
- Minimum image resolution: 300 dpi
- Obtain consent for patient-identifiable content
6. Ethical Considerations
A. Human and Animal Studies
- Submit ethics committee approval documentation
- Confirm informed consent for all human subjects
- Follow all local and international ethical guidelines
B. Plagiarism and Originality
- Submissions must be original and unpublished elsewhere
- All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism
C. Authorship
- Adhere to ICMJE criteria
- All authors must have made significant contributions
- Post-submission changes require written agreement from all authors
7. Peer Review Process
- Double-blind peer review
