At MJNBS, we uphold the highest standards of ethics, transparency, and academic integrity in neuroscience publishing. This policy defines the responsibilities of authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher to ensure the credibility and reliability of all published work.

1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Originality & Plagiarism
All manuscripts must be original, properly referenced, and free from plagiarism. MJNBS uses plagiarism detection tools to verify content authenticity. Any plagiarism, duplicate publication, or data fabrication is strictly prohibited.

Authorship Criteria
Only contributors who have substantially participated in study design, data acquisition, analysis, or manuscript preparation may be listed as authors. All authors must approve the final submission.

Data Accuracy & Transparency
Authors are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and reproducible data. Falsification, fabrication, or misrepresentation will result in rejection or retraction. Raw data may be requested during peer review.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Authors must disclose all financial, institutional, or personal interests that could influence their work. Full transparency is required at submission.

Ethical Approval & Consent
Research involving humans, animals, or clinical samples must have institutional ethics committee or IRB approval. Informed consent must be obtained and documented.


2. Responsibilities of Editors

Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit, originality, and relevance to neurology and brain sciences. Editors operate independently, free from external influence or bias.

Fair & Timely Peer Review
All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Editors ensure reviews are objective, constructive, and conducted without discrimination or delay.

Confidentiality
Editors must maintain confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and may not use or disclose content prior to publication.

Managing Conflicts
Editors must declare conflicts of interest and recuse themselves when impartiality is compromised.


3. Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers

Objective Review
Reviewers provide unbiased, professional evaluations focused on scientific merit, methodological rigor, and relevance to neuroscience.

Confidentiality
All manuscript content must remain confidential and must not be used for personal advantage.

Disclosure of Conflicts
Reviewers must disclose potential conflicts of interest and decline review if impartiality cannot be maintained.

  • Erratum – Minor editorial or typographical corrections
  • Corrigendum – Author-submitted corrections post-publication
  • Retraction – Serious ethical breaches or invalid findings

All corrections are clearly labeled and linked to the original article.
