Mogito Open Access Journal of Advanced Surgery & Operative Care (MJASOC) – Editorial Policy & Submission Guidelines

1. Scope of Content

MJASOC publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed research advancing surgical science, operative care, and innovation across all surgical specialties. Accepted article types include:

  • Original research articles
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
  • Technical notes and surgical innovations
  • Clinical trials and operative outcome studies
  • Case reports and surgical case series
  • Editorials, perspectives, and correspondence

Topics of interest:

  • Novel surgical procedures and techniques
  • Operative safety, perioperative care, and recovery
  • Surgical instrumentation, robotics, and technology
  • Emergency, trauma, oncologic, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, and transplant surgery
  • Surgical education, training, and simulation
  • Ethics, policy, and patient-centered outcomes

2. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts. Criteria include:

  • Scientific validity and methodological rigor
  • Clinical relevance and innovation
  • Originality and contribution to the field
  • Surgical applicability and patient impact
  • Clarity and writing quality

A third reviewer or senior editor may resolve conflicts. Authors are expected to revise manuscripts based on feedback, with final decisions made by the editorial board.


3. Authorship & Contributions

MJASOC follows ICMJE authorship guidelines. Authors must contribute to:

  • Study conception or surgical technique design
  • Data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation
  • Manuscript drafting or critical revision
  • Final approval of the published version
  • Accountability for the integrity of the work

Guest, honorary, or ghost authorship is prohibited. Contributions must be declared at submission.


4. Ethical Standards

MJASOC adheres to COPE guidelines. Requirements include:

  • Institutional ethical approval for human/animal studies
  • Informed patient consent for identifiable data or images
  • Full disclosure of conflicts of interest
  • No plagiarism, data manipulation, or redundant publication

Ethical breaches may result in investigation, retraction, or institutional notification.


5. Open Access Policy

MJASOC is fully open access, publishing under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing free distribution and reuse with proper citation.


6. Data Transparency & Availability

Authors are encouraged to include data availability statements and share datasets supporting their findings, with exceptions for patient confidentiality or legal restrictions.


7. Corrections, Retractions & Expressions of Concern

MJASOC maintains transparent scholarly records and will issue:

  • Corrections for minor factual errors
  • Retractions for serious ethical or data violations
  • Expressions of Concern for unresolved issues under investigation

8. Editorial Independence

MJASOC ensures full editorial independence free from commercial, institutional, or sponsor influence. Editors and reviewers are selected for expertise, impartiality, and scientific integrity.


9. Appeals & Complaints

Authors may appeal editorial decisions with a detailed rationale. Appeals are reviewed by senior editors. Ethical concerns are handled confidentially following COPE best practices.


10. Indexing & Archiving

MJASOC is pursuing indexing in leading databases:

All content is digitally archived for long-term access and citation integrity.
