Our scope spans the entire spectrum of cardiopulmonary science — covering heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias, interventional cardiology, and cardiovascular surgery, as well as pulmonary diseases such as COPD, asthma, lung cancer, and critical care medicine. We also welcome high-quality research in preventive cardiology, respiratory infections, sleep disorders, and cardio-pulmonary interactions, ensuring every publication contributes to clinical advancement and foundational scientific knowledge.

1. Scope of Content

The Mogito Open Access Journal of Cardiovascular & Respiratory Research (MJCRR) publishes peer-reviewed articles that advance scientific and clinical knowledge in cardiovascular and respiratory medicine. We welcome:

  • Original research articles
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
  • Clinical case reports and imaging studies
  • Translational and basic science research
  • Technical reports and diagnostic innovations
  • Editorials, commentaries, and expert perspectives
  • Letters to the editor and correspondence

Our scope includes but is not limited to:

  • Cardiology: ischemic heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension, vascular disorders, cardio-oncology, cardiometabolic syndromes, congenital heart defects, and preventive cardiology.
  • Respiratory Medicine: asthma, COPD, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary infections, tuberculosis, pandemics, pulmonary hypertension, sleep-disordered breathing, and thoracic imaging.
  • Critical Care & Diagnostics: ventilatory support, lung function, interventional cardiology, and cardiopulmonary diagnostics.
  • Pharmacology & Public Health: cardiovascular and respiratory pharmacology, rehabilitation, and preventive heart-lung health.

2. Peer Review Process

MJCRR upholds a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts and evaluated on:

  • Scientific validity and methodology
  • Novelty, significance, and relevance
  • Quality of writing and data interpretation
  • Compliance with ethical and academic standards

Discrepancies are resolved through additional review or senior editorial oversight. Final publication decisions rest with the Editorial Board.

3. Authorship & Contributions

MJCRR follows ICMJE authorship guidelines. Authorship requires significant contribution to:

  • Study design, data collection, or interpretation
  • Drafting or revising the manuscript
  • Final approval of the version to be published
  • Accountability for integrity of the work

All contributors must be disclosed. Guest, ghost, or honorary authorship is prohibited.

4. Ethical Standards

MJCRR complies with COPE best practices. Authors must provide:

  • Ethical approval for human/animal studies
  • Informed consent for identifiable patient data/images
  • Full disclosure of conflicts of interest
  • Assurance of originality and unpublished status

Misconduct such as plagiarism, falsification, or duplication will result in investigation, rejection, or retraction.

5. Open Access Policy

MJCRR is a fully open access journal. All publications are available under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), ensuring free access, sharing, and reuse with proper attribution.

6. Data Transparency & Availability

Authors are encouraged to provide data availability statements and share datasets, software, or protocols where possible, except where restricted by privacy, legal, or ethical concerns.

7. Corrections, Retractions & Expressions of Concern

To maintain transparency, MJCRR issues:

  • Corrections for factual errors
  • Retractions for confirmed misconduct or flawed results
  • Expressions of Concern for unresolved issues

8. Editorial Independence

MJCRR maintains editorial independence. Decisions are made without influence from advertisers, sponsors, or institutions. Editorial staff and reviewers are selected for their expertise and professional integrity.

9. Appeals & Complaints

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written justification. Appeals and complaints are reviewed confidentially by senior editors or an independent committee, following COPE protocols.

10. Indexing & Archiving

MJCRR aims for inclusion in leading indexing services, including:
