Mogito Open Access Journal of Evidence-Based Medical Practice (MJEMP)

This guide outlines the submission process, manuscript preparation, and ethical standards required for publication in MJEMP.

1. Scope of the Journal

MJEMP publishes peer-reviewed articles that focus on the application, evaluation, and advancement of evidence-based practices in medicine and healthcare. The journal welcomes submissions in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Evidence-Based Clinical Practice

  • Comparative Effectiveness Research

  • Clinical Guidelines and Protocol Development

  • Health Outcomes and Quality of Care

  • Patient Safety and Risk Management

  • Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses

  • Practice-Based Research

  • Implementation Science

  • Evidence-Based Policy and Health Systems

2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

MJEMP accepts the following article types:

  • Original Research Articles – Full studies contributing novel, evidence-based medical or clinical findings

  • Review Articles – Comprehensive and structured reviews on evidence-based topics

  • Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses – Rigorously conducted literature syntheses

  • Clinical Case Reports – Cases highlighting application of evidence-based decisions

  • Brief Communications – Concise reports of significant preliminary findings

  • Editorials – Expert opinions or invited commentary

  • Letters to the Editor – Constructive academic feedback or discussion

3. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

A. Formatting Requirements

  • Submit in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12

  • Line spacing: 1.5, with continuous page numbering

  • Title page must include:

    • Full manuscript title

    • Names and affiliations of all authors

    • Corresponding author’s email and contact details

B. Abstract and Keywords

  • Required for all research and review articles (maximum 250 words)

  • Structured abstract (for original research): Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion

  • Include 4–6 keywords below the abstract

C. Main Text Structure

For Original Research Articles, the structure should include:

  • Introduction

  • Methods

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

Other article types may follow formats appropriate to their category.

4. References and Citation Style

  • Use Vancouver citation style

  • References cited in numerical order as they appear in the text

  • Only cite published or accessible sources

  • Ensure proper formatting and accuracy of all citations

5. Figures and Tables

  • Place at the end of the manuscript or as separate files

  • Number consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1)

  • Provide clear titles and legends

  • Images must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi)

6. Ethical Considerations

A. Human and Animal Studies

  • Submit documentation of ethical approval

  • Clearly state that informed consent was obtained

  • Comply with all relevant local and international ethical guidelines

B. Plagiarism and Originality

  • Manuscripts must be original and not under review elsewhere

  • All submissions are screened for plagiarism

  • Authors are responsible for the integrity and originality of their work

C. Authorship

  • MJEMP follows ICMJE authorship criteria

  • All authors must have made significant contributions

  • Any changes in authorship post-submission must be supported by written agreement from all authors

7. Peer Review Process

  • MJEMP uses a double-blind peer review system

  • Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent experts

  • Average decision time: 4 to 6 weeks

  • Authors may be asked to revise manuscripts based on reviewer feedback

8. Open Access Policy

MJEMP is a fully open access journal. All content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided the original author and source are credited.

9. Article Processing Charges (APC)

To support open-access operations and editorial processing, an Article Processing Charge (APC) may apply.
