Mogito Open Access Journals of Biochemistry & Biomedical Sciences (MJBBS) Editorial Policy

Mogito Open Access Journal of Biochemistry & Biomedical Sciences (MJBBS)

The Mogito Open Access Journal of Biochemistry & Biomedical Sciences (MJBBS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of editorial integrity, transparency, and scholarly excellence. Our editorial policy is designed to ensure that every manuscript undergoes a fair, unbiased, and rigorous review process while promoting ethical publishing practices and scientific rigor.

1. Editorial Independence

The editorial decisions at MJBBS are made independently by the editorial team, free from commercial, political, or institutional influence. Editors are solely responsible for determining the suitability of submissions based on scientific quality, originality, significance, and relevance to the journal's scope.

2. Editorial Board Roles and Responsibilities

Our editorial board comprises experienced scholars, researchers, and clinicians in the fields of biochemistry and biomedical sciences. Their responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the peer review process with impartiality and confidentiality

  • Ensuring adherence to publication ethics and ethical guidelines

  • Providing guidance to authors and reviewers on manuscript development

  • Contributing to strategic development and scope refinement of the journal

  • Promoting inclusivity, transparency, and scientific excellence

The Editor-in-Chief provides final approval of manuscripts and ensures alignment with journal policies, while Associate Editors manage submissions in their respective areas of expertise.

3. Peer Review Policy

MJBBS uses a double-blind peer review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. This promotes objectivity and minimizes potential biases.

  • Initial Screening: Submissions are screened by the editorial office for scope, format, and ethical compliance.

  • Reviewer Assignment: Manuscripts passing the screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers.

  • Review Criteria: Scientific rigor, originality, clarity, methodology, data integrity, and contribution to the field.

  • Editorial Decision: Based on reviewers’ feedback, the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor will make one of the following decisions: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.

All reviews are expected to be constructive, respectful, and delivered within the requested timeframe to support timely publication.

4. Conflict of Interest

Editors and reviewers are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to a manuscript under consideration. In cases of conflict, alternative editors or reviewers will be assigned.

Authors must also disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could be perceived as influencing their work. These will be published alongside the article if accepted.

5. Ethical Oversight

MJBBS adheres to the ethical standards of:

  • COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)

  • ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors)

  • WAME (World Association of Medical Editors)

We enforce policies on:

  • Plagiarism

  • Data fabrication or falsification

  • Duplicate or redundant publication

  • Unethical research or animal/human experimentation

Allegations of misconduct will be investigated thoroughly and, if necessary, reported to relevant institutions.

6. Appeals and Complaints

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions by submitting a reasoned letter to the editorial office. Appeals will be reviewed by an independent editor not involved in the initial decision.

Complaints regarding peer review, ethical concerns, or editorial conduct should be directed to:
Email: editors_mjbbs@mogitojournals.org

7. Post-Publication Policies

We are committed to maintaining the integrity of the scientific record. The editorial team may issue:

  • Corrections for minor errors that do not affect the scientific conclusions

  • Retractions in cases of confirmed serious ethical breaches or data inaccuracies

  • Editorial Expressions of Concern if investigations are ongoing

All updates will be linked to the original article to ensure transparency.

8. Open Access & Copyright

MJBBS publishes all content under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing free use and distribution with proper attribution. Authors retain copyright.

9. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

MJBBS is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive editorial environment. We strive for equitable representation across gender, geography, career stage, and research background among our authors, reviewers, and editorial board members.

10. Editorial Transparency

We publicly list our editorial board members, publication metrics, and peer review policies to promote accountability and trust. Authors can track the status of their submissions and receive updates throughout the editorial process.
