Mogito Open Access Journals of Molecular Biology (MJMB) Authors Guide

The Mogito Open Access Journal of Molecular Biology (MJMB) is committed to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research that advances the understanding of molecular biology and its applications. To ensure a smooth submission and publication process, we invite authors to follow the detailed guidelines below.

1. Scope of Manuscripts

MJMB welcomes submissions in the following formats:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles

  • Short Communications

  • Technical Notes

  • Perspectives and Commentaries

  • Data Reports

Topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Gene expression and regulation

  • Molecular mechanisms of disease

  • Structural biology and bioinformatics

  • Synthetic biology and genome editing

  • Cell signaling and molecular interactions

  • Molecular genetics, proteomics, and metabolomics

  • Molecular biotechnology and translational research

2. Submission Guidelines

Online Submission:
All manuscripts must be submitted via MJMB’s submission portal or via email to:
mjmb@mogitojournals.org

Language:

Submissions must be in clear, concise English. Non-native speakers are encouraged to seek language editing prior to submission.

Manuscript Format:

  • Title Page:

    • Full title, running title

    • Author names and affiliations

    • Corresponding author contact details

    • Acknowledgments and funding sources

  • Abstract (250 words max):
    Structured (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion)

  • Keywords (3–6):
    Relevant to indexing and discoverability

  • Main Text:

    • Introduction

    • Materials and Methods

    • Results

    • Discussion

    • Conclusion

  • References:
    Use Vancouver or APA style; include DOI where applicable

  • Figures and Tables:
    Submit in high resolution (300 dpi minimum); legends required

3. Authorship and Contributions

Authors must meet the ICMJE criteria for authorship. We require a contributorship statement outlining each author's role (using CRediT taxonomy is encouraged).

Examples:

  • Conceptualization: A.B.

  • Data curation: A.B., C.D.

  • Writing – original draft: A.B.

  • Writing – review & editing: A.B., C.D., E.F.

4. Ethical Considerations

Human and Animal Research:

All studies must include ethics approval details and statements of informed consent where applicable.

Conflict of Interest:

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.

Plagiarism Policy:

Submissions are screened for originality. MJMB maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism.

Data Availability:

Authors are encouraged to deposit datasets in open repositories and include access links in the manuscript.

5. Peer Review Process

MJMB follows a double-blind peer review system:

  • Manuscripts are first assessed for scope and quality by the editorial team

  • Eligible submissions are sent to at least two independent reviewers

  • Final decisions are based on reviewer feedback and editorial judgment

Review timelines generally range from 2–4 weeks.

6. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

MJMB supports open access publishing and aims to minimize cost barriers. There are currently no submission or publication fees for accepted papers. In the future, minimal APCs may be introduced with full waivers available for authors from low-income countries.

7. Copyright and Licensing

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright, and their work is free to share, adapt, and distribute with proper attribution.

8. Post-Acceptance & Proofing

Upon acceptance:

  • Authors will receive page proofs for correction

  • No substantial edits can be made at this stage

  • Final articles will be published online within 7 days of proof approval

9. Corrections and Retractions

MJMB follows COPE guidelines on corrections, errata, and retractions. Authors may request updates post-publication if necessary.
