Mogito Open Access Journals of Molecular Biology (MJMB) Editorial Policy

At the Mogito Open Access Journal of Molecular Biology (MJMB), our editorial policy reflects our unwavering commitment to scientific excellence, editorial integrity, and global accessibility in the molecular life sciences. As a peer-reviewed, open access journal, MJMB provides a trusted platform for the publication of high-quality research that advances the understanding of molecular mechanisms underpinning biological systems.

Scope of Editorial Oversight

MJMB welcomes original research articles, reviews, short communications, data notes, and methodological papers in all areas of molecular biology, including but not limited to:

  • Molecular genetics and genomics

  • Epigenetics and gene regulation

  • RNA biology and transcriptomics

  • Structural and functional proteomics

  • Signal transduction and cell communication

  • Molecular pathogenesis and disease models

  • Genome editing and synthetic biology

  • Molecular pharmacology and biotechnology

  • Systems biology and computational modeling

We encourage submissions that explore interdisciplinary approaches, translational implications, and novel experimental techniques.

Editorial Independence & Peer Review Process

MJMB operates under the principles of editorial independence, ensuring that all editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit, methodological soundness, and relevance to the field without influence from external entities, including the publisher or sponsors.

All submitted manuscripts undergo:

  • Initial editorial assessment for scope alignment and ethical compliance

  • Double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts

  • Final editorial evaluation by the Associate Editor and/or Editor-in-Chief

We strive to ensure timely, fair, and constructive feedback while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and reviewer accountability.

Authorship & Contribution Transparency

MJMB follows the ICMJE guidelines for authorship and contributors. Each listed author must meet the criteria for significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. We require a contribution statement at the time of submission and encourage the use of the CRediT taxonomy for author roles.

Ethical Standards & Scientific Integrity

All manuscripts must comply with ethical standards in research involving:

  • Human participants (with institutional ethics approval and informed consent)

  • Animal models (adherence to international animal welfare guidelines)

  • Genetic data and biosecurity-sensitive materials

We follow the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and WAME, and we require authors to disclose conflicts of interest, funding sources, and data availability.

Open Access & Copyright

MJMB is published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), ensuring all content is freely accessible, reusable, and shareable with proper attribution. Authors retain copyright of their work.

Our open access model supports scientific equity and the global dissemination of knowledge without barriers to readers or authors.

Corrections, Retractions & Editorial Transparency

MJMB is committed to editorial transparency and scientific accountability. In cases of error, ethical misconduct, or post-publication concerns, we follow COPE procedures for:

  • Corrections and updates

  • Expressions of concern

  • Retractions when necessary

We maintain a clear record of editorial decisions and welcome post-publication discussion when appropriate.

Editorial Board Responsibilities

Our Editorial Board is composed of leading experts in molecular biology and related fields. Their responsibilities include:

  • Upholding ethical and scientific standards

  • Assisting in peer review and manuscript decision-making

  • Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the journal

  • Curating special issues and thematic collections

  • Advising on strategic editorial development

Commitment to Diversity & Global Inclusion

MJMB values the richness of global perspectives in science. We actively encourage submissions and editorial participation from underrepresented regions, minority groups, early-career researchers, and non-native English speakers. We are committed to publishing in multiple languages in the future to increase global accessibility.
