Mogito Open Access Journals of Zoology & Animal Sciences (MJZAS) Editorial Policy
At the Mogito Open Access Journals of Zoology & Animal Sciences (MJZAS), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and scientific excellence in the publication of zoological and animal science research. Our editorial policy outlines the principles and processes that guide manuscript selection, peer review, editorial decisions, and publication ethics.
Editorial Independence
MJZAS upholds full editorial independence. All editorial decisions are made solely based on the scientific quality, originality, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s scope. Editorial judgments are free from any commercial, institutional, or personal influence.
Editorial Board Responsibilities
The Editorial Board, composed of recognized experts in various disciplines of zoology and animal sciences, is responsible for:
Overseeing the peer review and editorial decision-making processes
Ensuring fair, unbiased, and timely evaluation of manuscripts
Maintaining the integrity of the journal’s scientific content
Promoting ethical standards and transparency in publication
Advising on journal policies and scope updates
Peer Review Process
MJZAS follows a double-blind peer review process, ensuring both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the review. The key stages include:
Initial Screening – The Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor evaluates the manuscript for scope, formatting, and ethical compliance.
Peer Review Assignment – Manuscripts that pass initial screening are assigned to qualified independent reviewers.
Review Reports – Reviewers assess the manuscript’s scientific rigor, originality, clarity, and relevance, and provide constructive feedback.
Editorial Decision – Based on the reviewers’ comments and the editor’s evaluation, the manuscript will be accepted, rejected, or returned for revision.
The editorial team aims to complete the review process within 2–4 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.
Authorship and Contributions
Authorship must be based on substantial contributions to the research conception, design, data analysis, or manuscript writing. All listed authors must:
Approve the final manuscript
Agree to be accountable for the integrity and accuracy of the work
Disclose any potential conflicts of interest
Guest authorship, ghostwriting, and honorary authorship are strictly prohibited.
Conflicts of Interest
All authors, editors, and reviewers are required to disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the content or review of the manuscript. Editors recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict exists.
Handling Misconduct
MJZAS takes research misconduct seriously. Cases of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical animal treatment are investigated thoroughly. If confirmed, the editorial team will take appropriate action, including:
Manuscript rejection or article retraction
Notification of authors’ institutions or funding agencies
Banning from future submissions
Public statements of correction or retraction
Appeals and Complaints
Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions by submitting a reasoned request to the editorial office. Appeals will be independently reviewed by an impartial editor or board member not involved in the original decision.
Complaints regarding editorial handling, publication ethics, or peer review will be addressed promptly and transparently.
Data Availability and Reproducibility
MJZAS encourages authors to share datasets, code, and supplementary materials that support their findings. Data availability statements should be included where appropriate to promote transparency and reproducibility.
Open Access and Licensing
MJZAS publishes all content under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). This ensures free, unrestricted access and allows for proper citation and reuse of published material with attribution.
Indexing and Archiving
To ensure permanent access and discoverability, MJZAS is actively working to be indexed in major scientific databases and archives. All articles are assigned DOIs and stored in reliable digital repositories.
Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
MJZAS is committed to fostering diversity and inclusivity in publishing. We welcome contributions from researchers worldwide, regardless of background, and actively support underrepresented groups in science.
