Mogito Open Access Journals of Microbiology & Infectious Agents (MJMIA) Publication Ethics
Mogito Open Access Journals of Microbiology & Infectious Agents (MJMIA)
At Mogito Open Access Journals of Microbiology & Infectious Agents (MJMIA), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in scientific publishing. Upholding trust in scholarly communication is central to our mission of advancing global research in microbiology and infectious agents.
Our publication ethics policy is guided by the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). We expect authors, reviewers, and editors to adhere strictly to these standards throughout the publication process.
1. Authorship & Contribution
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research conception, design, execution, or interpretation.
All authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.
Contributions of individuals who do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged separately.
2. Originality & Plagiarism
Submitted manuscripts must be original work and not under consideration elsewhere.
Authors are required to appropriately cite and acknowledge all sources, including their own previously published work.
Plagiarism in any form including self-plagiarism is strictly prohibited. All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software.
3. Data Integrity & Reproducibility
Authors must present data accurately and transparently, ensuring results are reproducible and verifiable.
Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data constitutes research misconduct and will result in manuscript rejection and notification of the relevant institutions.
4. Conflicts of Interest
All authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that may influence the research, review, or publication process.
MJMIA publishes conflict of interest statements to maintain transparency and protect the integrity of the scientific record.
5. Ethical Approvals
Research involving human participants, animals, or biohazards must include a statement of compliance with institutional and international ethical standards.
For human subjects, authors must confirm informed consent and ethical approval from an appropriate review board.
6. Peer Review Process
MJMIA uses a double-blind peer review system to ensure unbiased, objective, and fair assessment of all submissions.
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality, avoid conflicts of interest, and provide constructive, timely feedback.
Editors ensure reviewer anonymity and uphold the integrity of the review process.
7. Corrections, Retractions, and Editorial Oversight
MJMIA is committed to maintaining an accurate scholarly record.
Errors discovered after publication will be corrected through errata, corrigenda, or, in cases of serious misconduct, retractions, in accordance with COPE guidelines.
The editorial team monitors publication quality and may investigate ethical concerns at any stage.
8. Editorial Independence & Responsibility
The Editor-in-Chief and editorial board operate independently, making publication decisions based solely on scientific merit, ethical standards, and journal scope.
All editorial decisions are free from commercial, political, or personal influence.
9. Reviewer Ethics
Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts impartially and confidentially.
They should avoid reviewing submissions where they have personal or professional conflicts of interest.
Reviewers are encouraged to report suspected ethical misconduct confidentially to the editorial office.
10. Appeals & Complaints
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a detailed justification. Appeals will be reviewed by an independent editorial panel.
Ethical concerns, complaints, or allegations of misconduct can be reported to: editors_mjmia@mogitojournals.org
By publishing with MJMIA, all contributors affirm their commitment to ethical scholarly conduct and the integrity of the scientific community.
