This guide is designed to assist authors in preparing and submitting manuscripts that meet the journal’s editorial and ethical standards.

1. Scope of the Journal

MJMBAR welcomes original research articles, review papers, short communications, case studies, and technical reports that contribute to the understanding of marine and aquatic environments. We prioritize work that:

  • Advances marine and freshwater biological sciences

  • Supports sustainable marine and aquatic resource management

  • Integrates interdisciplinary approaches across ecology, oceanography, biotechnology, and conservation science

2. Manuscript Categories

  • Original Research Articles (3,000–8,000 words)

  • Review Articles (4,000–10,000 words)

  • Short Communications (1,500–3,000 words)

  • Case Studies & Reports (up to 4,000 words)

  • Technical Notes or Methods Papers

All submissions should include a structured abstract, keywords, and clearly labeled sections (e.g., Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion).

3. Manuscript Preparation

Language: All manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English. Non-native speakers are encouraged to use professional language editing services before submission.

Format Requirements:

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Spacing: Double-spaced

  • Margins: 1-inch on all sides

  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or LaTeX (with .pdf and source files)

Required Sections:

  • Title Page (Title, authors' full names and affiliations, corresponding author contact)

  • Abstract (150–250 words, structured if possible)

  • Keywords (4–6 relevant terms)

  • Main Text (divided into logical sections)

  • Acknowledgments

  • Conflict of Interest Statement

  • References (APA, Harvard, or Vancouver style — consistent use is required)

  • Figures & Tables (High resolution, placed after references or in separate files)

4. Ethical Compliance

All submissions must conform to MJMBAR’s Publication Ethics policies. Authors must:

  • Obtain appropriate approvals for studies involving animals, human subjects, or sensitive ecosystems

  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest

  • Ensure originality and avoid plagiarism

  • Include an “Ethics Statement” in the manuscript, where applicable

5. Submission Process

6. Peer Review Process

MJMBAR follows a double-blind peer review system. Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent experts. The typical review process includes:

  3. Decision (accept, minor/major revision, reject)

  4. Revision Submission (if required)

  5. Final Decision & Proofing

Authors will be notified of decisions within 4–6 weeks of initial submission.

7. Open Access Policy & Article Processing Charges (APCs)

MJMBAR is an open access journal, meaning all content is freely available online without subscription barriers. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

To support editorial operations and open access dissemination, a modest Article Processing Charge (APC) may apply upon acceptance. Fee waivers or discounts are available for authors from low-income countries or in cases of financial hardship.
